Stay Strong

I believe that in every movie there is some hidden meaning that we can take and apply to our everyday lives. In the movie "Coach Carter" we see a perfect example of how to stand your ground. In the movie, Coach Carter must overcome multiple obstacles to break through to his troubled players. The school board doesn't even support his decisions and they threaten to terminate his employment if he doesn't change his ways. He refuses to do so because changing his ways would kill the message he was trying to send to his players. The message that we need to take from this movie is that we need to be strong like Coach Carter was and stand up for what we believe is right.

  1. I agree that you must be able to overcome all of your problems, because sometimes that is the only way that you can become stronger.

  2. I agree! Too many people are afraid to speak their mind and take a stand in what they believe in because they are too afraid of people and how people will react to what they say and or do. We need some more strong willed and strong minded people in the world when it comes to taking a stand and speaking up for what is right! We can't back down, because if we do the message and the point that needs to get across will never be made!

  3. Brian, I totally agree with you when you say that we need to be strong and stand up for ourselves. A lot of times we, as humans, are afraid to take chances and look bad, but we need to get passed that! We don't need to care what other people think and we need to do what is right.

  4. I think that this story is a good example of a success narrative. From what it sounds like (I've never seen the movie), Coach succeeds in not only communicating his point to his athletes, but also proves himself as a worthy leader to his employer.
